HOBBS ELEMENTARY
Hobbs Elementary School is a large school located in the north part of Cheyenne, Wyoming. Our current enrollment is 410 K-6 students. The students in our school come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds, anywhere from poor to quite wealthy. The school is situated in a middle class neighborhood. Many students are within walking distance. Approximately 100 students ride busses to and from school. We have approximately 25% of our students that are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program. In addition to our main school building, we have 3 modular buildings that house our upper grade students. Most of the K-3 classrooms meet the legislation mandate of 16 to 1 ratio of students to teachers. Hobbs has a full-time instructional coach and a full-time behavior specialist. The teaching staff range from 1 year of teaching experience to over 40 years of experience. Hobbs has an active PTO that helps with funding activities as well as classroom and school events such as carnival assemblies, programs, etc.
